Anatomy of a Violent Crime

One day I'll catch you pick pocketing my chest cavity.

I'll catch you reaching past flesh without calamity.

I'll catch you, hands stained with red taboo,

Sneaking under skin and view.

Tearing your way through one adieu

---and another---

Gladly giving your hands

to biological contraband

Grasping at rib cages

as if you were filling out log pages.

but now you've got your hands cuffed

between now and forever.

------

I'm still trying to catch you

sifting through my pockets

in search of heart shaped lockets

Because somebody hurt you

and I'm the perfect pick for pick pocket

------

Maybe one day I'll catch you

fingers griping your own soul as firmly as you grip mine

your tears like calamity, filling up the cavities.

of victims that wish to be whole

---Maybe one day we'll be whole---

One day I'll catch you pick pocketing my chest cavity.

I'll catch you reaching past your own heart

bleeding too.

I'll catch you, hands stained with red taboo,

Digging under human tissue.

My veins still wrapped around your ring finger

---Because One day I'll catch you---

---If only I could catch you---
