Before and After

I used to be whole But now I am half. I used to be one, But now I’m in it for the long run. I used to be just me lost to an unknown degree But now I am with him I truly feel free I used to be alone; a puppy without as much as a bone But now I call him my home. I used to be down further than the ground But now I am up high flying beyond the sky. I used to be single always left on my own But now I’m taken it’s something widely known. I used to be broken with my heart split in two But now I am fixed for on me his eyes rest I used to be one person But now we are a couple I used to be so little But now I am so important I used to be “I” But now it is “Us” I used to be nothing But now I mean something.
