And Breath

Sitting on my bed, bottle in hand Ten pills that’s all I have to take, then lights out, gone forever You brought me to this. You left me out in the cold So what was I supposed to do? Live on? Hell no not without you They told me you would be waiting Waiting at those pearly gate for me But that’s not right It should be the other way around I was to greet you in the end For all the times I had tried this before For all the times I've woken up on the floor You stood strong Smile on your face a new honor in your name The best die young or so they say But you weren’t the best You where the greatest so even younger you went My life went down in flames after you died Spiraling down and out of control Ending drunk in hand cuffs and a jail cell Wake up it’s not over Deal with the consequences, turn your life around Keep your chin up and your feet planted firmly on the ground You’ve got only one life to live so make it the best Don’t waste it at the bottom of bottles But clime out before the rest caves in Get to the top and live there knowing you’ve hit your worst Only the best to come Let her remind you that there is more to live for then death And breathe
