and oh what a feeling, to be feeling with you

i only cried hearing that song when i was with you

the one ive listened to since i was young

maybe something about your cheeks or your mind

or your philosophy or your lies

made the words so much clearer than ever before

or maybe i was being possessive of the melody

that you got to feel the strums of

ringing through your ears for only the first time

it felt like a second hand first impression

or a dream without familiarity

the change in your glance every few lines

along with a slight smile

and the crinkles around your fingers

tracing a constellation of the melody onto the sky

made me feel like a kid again, listening to my song

you made me a kid again, listening to our song.
