And Then It Happened
And then it happened-
Just seventeen lying in my bed
with a series of thoughts going through my head
and I just so happened to be thinking aloud and here is what I said-
"Just yesterday I thought as a child
assuming that life is full of happiness and smiles-
Just yesterday I talked like a child
saying everything on my mind all boisterous and loud-
Just yesterday I walked like a child
with no care in the world-
Just yesterday I was a child
but today well here is what I learned-
Most days are like the sky either cloudy or blue
Smiles only imprinted permanently on the faces with those without a clew
about this life
Today I have become just a little wiser
and I find that actions speak louder than words
Now I walk like a prospect instead of a suspect and demand respect
Today I started acting more like a man
And then it happened, today my mother busted in my room and said Happy Birthday!
