And Then They Woke Up

If no one needs your help, why do you offer.

If no one cares when you're down, why do you bother.

Why do you try when no one recieves.

Why do you cry if no one sees.

Why can't you wake up, from this nightmare of a dream.

Why can't you unsubmerge, though you yell, though you scream.

The taunting, and pointing, and laughter not yours.

This sickness can't be fixed, there isn't a cure.

Your crying, and sobbing, while trying to keep up.

But still, you are forced to put on your makeup.

You shake off your hurt, and cover your pain.

You smile and say there's sun, out in the rain.

You brush yourself off, and tape up the break;

And sink slowly deeper, in a dream you can't wake.
