Angel

I was so lost,

But now light has shined.

My halo has come down,

And found the heart that was mine.

She took my soul,

She treats it well.

You wouldn't believe,

How far she fell.

Down from heaven,

Into my arms.

Now I'm responsible,

For protecting her from harm.

She is an angel,

I'm just a boy.

But away she took my sadness,

Replacing it with joy.

Here I now stand,

Under her wingspan.

She makes me smile,

Anytime she can.

Her kiss is her gift,

For an eternity more.

You can see the light,

Shining from her core.

One day I'll be older,

Though we may be strangers,

I know she'll always be,

My delightful angel.

I'm just another girl writing poetry to keep me sane. Poetry is one of the only ways I know how to express myself. I enjoy writing and reading on my own time, it keeps me occupied.
