Angel

My heart felt an ache that was caused by a numbing pain.

My thoughts were filled with unholy desires.

My insecurities have taken the best of me,

and I found myself feeling alone in a crowded town.

I was being captivated by the evil taking place in a soul that was once so sane.

I was trying to balance life on a thin wire.

I was afraid of falling into the pit of flames and depravity, where I believed I was destined to be.

I was scared of letting the evil that was once taking control bring me down.

No one seemed to understand the issues that have poured upon me like heavy rain.

They did not know how intense these thoughts and pains were. They were like a wild forest fire.

But, it does not matter how shallow the ocean may be.

You can still drown.

However, an angel was sent from above and caused the intensity of my thoughts to gradually wane.

My troubles, once taking a brutal toll on me, soon became less dire.

The angel released me from the malign captivators of my soul and set me free.

Instead of feeling alone, I soon became visible in a ghost town.

So, here’s a praise that shall be sung in the angel’s honor and not in vain.

I was blind to realize that the one who was meant to save me was the reflection of a soul filled with ire.

I praise the angel who helped me flee,

and in the city of the misunderstood ghosts is where the angel will wear its crown.
