An Angel in the Dark

You sought me out,

Angel in the dark.

Your beautiful wings glinted in the shadows as you grew closer,

Your halo was luminescent from the black of the night.

Angel in the dark,

You hugged my wings gray and dull,

And you kissed my halo lost of light.

As you did these both,

My wings and my halo illuminated.

I too had been an angel in the dark,

But I was not able to radiate from the starless night like you.

You have created a luster from the inky sky,

And by doing so, made me shine too.

By teaching me how to shimmer during the hours of darkness,

Together we became angels in the light,

For side by side we gleam brighter than the sun.
