The angel on earth: My Mother

Dear Mom,

You have always been there for me from the start

You are the only person that has a big heart

You are always there when something seems to go wrong

You always seem to have the medicine to make us strong

Our bond is like no other

A bond that can only be shared by a child and a mother

You work all day without any breaks or salaries

But you get your salary in a currency like no other

And that is simple and pure love

Affection and care is what it consists of

You are the superhero that can save the day

You push all the problems and harm away

You give a listening ear for me to pour my heart out

And this makes you the therapist that never seems to shout

Tears roll down your eyes when you see us crying

It begins to seem that inside you are also dying

Our pain becomes your pain and our smiles become yours

Not only is happiness shared but so is sorrow

From the time we open our eyes to the time they close

You are the one person that protects us like the thorns on a rose

A mother’s life is full of work from waking the kids to helping them with homework

You are a role model with a heart of gold

You vanquish all the evil people and are so bold

You are the person that makes the impossible seem possible

You keep your children happy while also being the glue binding our family together

A mother is a child’s first teacher

This means that you have the biggest responsibility any person can ever have

And therefore I may not tell you this enough but I really appreciate all you do for me and

I LOVE YOU

Love,

Mansi Patel
