Angel in the Hall
Time stands still as I watch you.
It's as if the Earth and all the cosmos have decided to stand still, if only for a moment.
I stand there for what feels like eons, until it slowly fades away.
Reality returns, and you continue to walk past me, almost through me.
You don't notice me, you rarely do, but I like it that way, why ruin the moment.
You don't know me, and I barely know you, even your name escapes my knowledge.
But I don't need that, I have another name for you, the angel in the hall.
It suits you, it really does.
Perfection is impossible, but you are so close it physically hurts me.
I wish I could say that I am all you are missing too, but I can't, that's a lie.
So I let you walk by, not noticing me, noticing you.
My angel in the hall walks by me, and it hurts, but I like it.
It's a good hurt.
She's gone now, lost amidst the chaos one calls a hall.
I stand there for a while, feeling this feeling.
The bell rings.
Late, again.
See you tomorrow.
Sincerely, the boy in the hall
