An Angel's Flight

She stood rocking on the edge of the world

Forward lies sweet escape,
one step, and it all flies away.
She'll never be hurt again, and
I can keep his pain at bay.

Behind, fearful voices call out
Friends and family She hardly knew.
In the mist of all My doubt,
A shaken solid voice rings true.

I see His freedom
From the monster--- She
For who could love a monster,
A monster such as Me?

He was always kind
Though I became needy,
He never proved unrefined
Thus I became greedy.

Forward lies the sweet escape,
One step and it all flies away.
She'll never be hurt again,
And I can keep his pain at bay

She stood rocking on the edge of the world

She lifts My foot over the edge
Backwards we fall, His body embracing
She fights toward the ledge,
I cling to him apologizing

She dissolves as He
holds tightly, afraid I might go
He says, "You mean the world to me,
And I really love you so."

She stood rocking on the edge of the world

No one moved as She jumped
He screamed to heaven hatefully
She forced My eyes open
To watch the end draw near
Suddenly She smiles and
With a bone-crunching thud,

We Fly
