Angels or Aliens

I'm no angel, but I'd like to be,
Allowed to go anywhere, and be free.
But is that really true?
Being free and to go anywhere you choose?

For some reason, I don't think so.
I think they're sent where they need to go.
But who sends them? Do you know?
They are believed to be Messengers of God.
Do you find that odd?

What about people that don't believe in God?
Do you dislike them because they don't?
A true believer really won't.
You must give the benefit of doubt,
Lots of people don't believe, what's that about?
All people need something to believe in,
But may have a problem with organized religion.

There's lots of reasons to not believe,
Maybe they feel they're being deceived.
"What is wrong with you?", true Christians ask.
"You cannot bask, in our glory," they reply.
"So where are YOU going, when you die?"
"There'll be no Heaven, it'll be HELL for you!"
I find myself asking, "Why do you believe that to be true?"

I thought true Christians were loving and caring,
Giving of themselves, and always sharing.
Sometimes I have a hard time understanding Christian beliefs,
And there is really no relief... for me.
You see through experience with people, I find they who profess to be Christian, are on the wrong mission.

See I don't force my beliefs on you,
But I feel that you're looking down on me, because I don't
have the same views, as you.
Who really created us?
To know the truth would be a big plus!

Was it really God, or some alien being?
I know, you ‘re not agreeing...
But I'm entitled to my opinion about the unseen,
And I truly believe in extraterrestrial beings!

Do you think I've lost my mind?
Maybe I'll never really find...the truth.
Trouble is, I've felt this way since my youth.
And where did those feelings come from?
Does that make me sound dumb?
Believe me, I'm not....
But I'm all that I've got.

I have a good heart, I help people daily,
I've tried to handle what life brings me bravely.
But I have questions, like others...
When I lost my mother and my brother, five weeks apart,
It's taken a good chunk of my heart,
To understand what they did to have to leave so soon,
Does it have something to do with the sun or the moon?

I don't know.
The only thing I DO know...
Is that all of this really blows!
Why are such good people taken from us?
What did they do to deserve such?
You tell me, "It's God's will."
Damn! That gives me a cold, cold chill!

I thought God was all loving and forgiving,
But man, do I have some real misgivings.
I really wish to remain of the living,
But at who's expense? Who's really giving?

We ALL do, one way or the other.
Like I did with my mom, and my brother.
I've come to realize that when it's time for me to die,
I have no other choice. Don't even have a voice, in that call.
Why worry about it at all?

My soul will go wherever it goes
And the rest of me? Who knows?
Please realize one thing...
Your faith will get you through whatever life brings.

Stay strong, within your faith,
When you pass, they'll see your wraith...
Heading to wherever it goes,
Poof! You're gone, from right under their nose!

So much for the cons, and pros,
Of our beliefs... of our woes.
We'll get to where we're going,
Into the stratosphere, all cosmic and glowing.
Morphing into some beautiful, winged creature...
Similar to an angel, with all the same features.

Good luck on your cosmic flight,
Into your next, wonderful life!
I'll see you again, real soon, my friend,
And if we're lucky, we'll do it time and again!

Hoping our new lives will never end.
We know that they will, but that's okay,
We'll meet again...some way...some day.
