Anger
The anger in my head
It builds up till I go mad
Depression turned outwards is what they say
All I need now is a bottle and a bag
But I know I shouldn't give into the urge
But what do I do when my mind is at war?
One day at a time is all that I hear
But a minute at a time is what I need
One minute, then 15, 30, 45, finally 60
The anger shoots through me like a hot bullet shot at me
I stand, I sit then do it over and over again
I can't sit still, the anger just builds
People around me get the worst from me
It's like that saying, we hurt the ones we love the most
My heart keeps pounding, I think it might burst
At the seams because nothing else helps
Blood pressure rises and so does the violence
Putting holes in the wall and anything at all
My breathing is heavy
My heart is unsteady
Just breathe and relax
Don't fight the facts
You're angry at nothing
But how can that be?
I'm fighting that battle in my head everyday
I shouldn't be angry but it won't subside
So I grab my keys, jump in my car and go for a ride
Driving down country roads with my music at the max
Windows rolled down makes all the difference
The sun is shining bright
I want to take flight
I can feel the suns rays shining down on me
And suddenly the anger seems gone
Driving this way makes one feel infinite
As if life is good, we forget all our worries
We forget that we're mad
I know life is beautiful
And we forget to take notice, we often choose the negative
The trees, the sun, the flowers and beyond
For me life has only just begun
So forget the anger and look up at the sky
Not enough people do this, and I'm not quite sure why
There is so much beauty everywhere around
Just firmly dig your toes into the ground
Now stop! Clear your mind
Observe and soak in the beauty within
Life is too precious to dwell in sin
Let go and let God and begin to love and live
Nothing is worth living until you can give
Yourself another chance to begin to forgive
