An Animal of Words

Dear Bully, Oppressor, Intimidator,

Laughing and poking fun at

all the things that make a human

who they are.

Your impact is great.

You sneer and snarl

like an animal,

an animal with words.

Your words are teeth

biting others, sinking into their will.

Their will to carry on

But I am an animal too

but not like you.

But instead, I am an animal of kindness

distributing light.

While you scatter darkness.

Maybe one day light will stuff your emptiness

and dull down your teeth

show you a new way of living.

Your impact is great.

You have taught us to be

Strong

Resilient

Merciful

Benevolent

Kind to others

because of you, because of you

You will not bring me

or others down anymore.

You do not have the power you believe you have.

Love,

the voice finally standing up.
