Animals.

Location

Those eyes.

Big bold, reaching into our tears.

Sleeping on cement floors,

Pee everywhere.

Hear their mewls, their pleas,

For a home for some peace.

Scratches of fevers and barks of fear,

These are no humans but friends, they are dear.

Dear. Darling dear. sweet.

But a pet, no a love, no family is near.

There are prisoners better off,

They are prisoners of their own.

 Fur

matted…

Hearts

beaten…

Let me save you,

Coddled in my arms to free--

Free a dominion of abuse

Of use

Of fear.

Let me save you,

Truly shelter you from the-

Shelters,

Truly shelter you from-

Us.
