The Anonymous Dreamer

I lay in bed dreaming of another world.

One without the memories of the past

A safe place for you and me

No one but us, hand in hand living like we always wanted to.

A silent place, filled with just the sounds of our beloved mother nature

Her whispers helping us to sleep as you hold me tighter than you need to

You know I will never leave.

You are the center of my universe

Is this heaven?

Waking up to you and no one else. No judgmental stares from strangers

Our love is just as real as theirs.

The twinkling stars spread across the sky, waiting to be discovered by you and me.

Promising nothing but happiness and a future better than anything I could have imagined.

Maybe we should get away. Find a place for us like in my dream.

Would you go away with me? Escape the harshness of this world.

Away from the disappointment of our parents and everyone we thought we could trust. We, no you, deserve more than the crap cards dealt to you.

We could slow dance for eternity.  Or at least for tonight in my dreams,

I can pretend we had it all.
