Another Cinderella
Hair as golden as the sun before it sets,
Eyes as blue as the ocean’s waters,
But her gaze was sharp,
Fearing even,
Her dress was as heavy as her stone-cold heart,
Her shoes a clump of glass,
She was here to wreak havoc,
She was not here for a prince,
She was here to unleash the fire in her soul,
Her sisters were mean,
She was meaner,
Her mother cold,
She was colder,
A sword was deadly,
Yet she was the reaper,
The prince grabbed her hand gently as if she was a fragile girl,
She gave a smile full of spite,
He twirled her, sweeping her across the ballroom floor,
Then, the clock struck,
Cinderella heard gasps from the crowd,
She looked down in shock,
She was a housemaid,
She was a murder,
With a dagger in the prince’s chest.
