Another life
Tipped and flipped the house
Like kicking it three sixty degrees
To sell at ease and bounce
I see
Myself hitting and kicking it down
With seeds and sprouts,
I plant them out to bleed
It through
I bleed and bite to break the pillars
Until it hurts to instill my thoughts
And things and ideas
In this house
Broken back and beaten hands
I see dreams in this house
Every possibility and
Every future
Every kid with muddy shoes
To dinner plates, play
Dates, wet clothes
And study groups
A minivan and a extra car
Parked outside, next
To the tree we had
Planted in youth
Exiting I can almost see
The neighbors like
We had just met
And were real
I see the grandkids pull
Up next to the tree
And the extra car
That broke down years ago
I see
Them open the door to our room
And ask us how we were doing
As we sat up in our bed watching the news
I could see a perfect life come and go
In this beautiful home that I just sold
