Another London Christmas
Naked black branches reach for a snowless sky,
And delicate crystal droplets entwine around the tree,
And London at christmas is a shimmering spectre,
The stars are aligned and twinkle in the foggy moonlight,
Delectable aromas waft through open kitchen doors,
Glowing warm lights flicker from every dingy window,
Distant carols and celebration float through the thickening mist,
With occasional blasts from the usual holiday traffic,
Its another rain-washed christmas behind the dismal window,
While the fire is crackling with a comfortable warmth,
Im snug on my window hoarding my presents and mirth,
Its another London christmas.
