Another Mother

Unknown voices were heard, yet incomprehensible.

The sights I can’t remember

The smells I can’t recall.

Never will I know the touch of her again.

She is beautiful in my mind,

Unwavering in her strength.

A voice a smooth as silk,

And eyes a golden brown.

I can smell the tea she brews,

Hanging in the air

Laughter rings clearly,

In the dying room

The memories start to crackle

In my aging mind.

I will never know the truth.

She lives a sea away,

Not knowing who I am.

Never will she see her first born child.
