Another One Gone

Time of death?

Damn it!

We lost another one.

Another one gone.

She was doing so well,
So was he,
And now
Neither one gets to see tomorrow.

It's already a problem
The mortality rate of childbirth
For both mothers and newborns.
But the worst of them all
Comes from the Black Community.

There has to be a better way
Why is it the Black Community have a high rate?

Why don't the medical field take black people pain serious?

What's so wrong with us?

Time of death for the baby?

What The Hell?!

Maybe there needs to be more blacks in the medical field.
More people that understands from both sides of the fence
That knows what is really going on with our expecting mothers.

The last thing any family want to hear from the doctor is
"I'm sorry, but they, she, didn't make it"
The last thing any family wants to hear is that their loved ones
Won't be seeing tomorrow.

I know it's go to be hard as hell to try and save one life
Let alone two or more,
But damn somethings got to give.

This is my inspiration.

This is the reason I am in school.

I want to be that change,
I want to see less deceased black mother and children.
I want to be apart of seeing that change.

I want to be a Nurse Midwife
And lend the hand needed to make this change.
I want to help multiple my community
The best way I will be taught how to.

I refuse for there to be

ANOTHER ONE GONE
