Another Us

The warm air with the sun beating

At its finest finesse

Going places with the best

Of humans.

Dancing

Lights blinding

Music blasting

Heart pounding

A place with no care in the world

Where its timeless

Where you’re unbroken by the past….

Then taking a look to the left and you see.

Where the figure you know too well.

And you stop. Eyes are locked.

And body is numb.

It looked like you showed no emotion.

But he does and waves, and you’re

still in shock.

That you see what you see. After so long…

It all comes back and you’re ruined.

Because you’re still in love

And you turn away where it’s present.

Music remains in the air.

You feel him still looking.

And you pretend it’s nothing.

The beat drops, and you look up with your eyes

closed and you smile.

Knowing there might be another us.
