Anticipation

I don’t know when it happened But I have come to realize the I can feel you at night when you penetrate my dreams A familiar vulnerability As my pulse races and my palms sweat it’s going to take more than this to know it’s real I want to trust but I fear my impulse to rush So skepticisms leave me at arm’s length Yet I’m melting with every word Yearning to be held You’re the focus of my thoughts Patients is no skill of mine So visions come alive as the curtains close And I enjoy almost tangible moments Until I can wake up by your side
