Anticipation At A Red Light

Rolling up, almost past the barrier.

Stop!

Brakes Squeal and cars jerk in place.

Stop!

My heart beat is still in a race!

Stop!

The thoughts spin; making my mind wearier.

Stop!

I am going to be late!

Stop!

The anxiety starts to take over.

Stop!

The light has turned green and I start to go

My life has started and I must let the anxiety go.
