AntiPoem 28 “The Skies Outside Ooze”

AntiPoem 28

“The Skies Outside Ooze”

(Poet’s instruction. Don’t follow this instruction:

Softly play “Rollin Rock” by the Tielman Brothers, 1960)

the skies outside ooze smoky choking headaches

once in a while I can hear the big steel monsters

rumble overhead spewing growls and whispers

they ignore the bleeding enchiladas next door

so they turn to the sky-blue tacos at aunt molly’s

at daybreak these days they tiptoe to the breakers

with probing noses seeking sour-cream justice pies

given discreetly to the hot-meat sauces bubbling up

stirring forever the gooey sugar islands of false love

of soft repartee with whiskers protruding like knives

all you guys can come to my cool taco island here

spend your needs and your dreams here upon my toe

the skies outside ooze of burned soup on the tappan

now the tiny fruit gnats hover and spin like maniacs

above this fixed board game of intense micro-dancing

the tielmans rocking and rollin to the sinister cymbals

balancing bass chords on electric-banana heartbeats

flying star-bound from here to there not feeling a thing

the skies outside ooze malignant fog drippings on eyelids

more rain-filled consternations turning the yes channel

all you guys can come to my very cool taco pad here

a two bedroom two bath abode of pineapple philosophers

we can pick the dead numbers if you like but I am allergic

we can pray to our pissed-off god for polite annihilations

but now the vultures are coming for the backdoor scraps
