antlers

headlights in stark spaces where
the bones curled in the stasis
of the veins, vermilion capillaries;
bloodstains like velvet Januaries:
crackle out like lightning- thundering
like bursting hearts;
sink inside like lover's teeth
beneath the snow
bleed into
cold.
