Anxieties

I never asked for this,

but it’s almost like at birth I got a devil’s kiss.

Sleeping I weep,

and awake I am tired.

When will this ever stop?

Get out of my head,

go away!

I didn’t want any of this,

and yet you drive away

the ones that I want to stay.

How can I be okay when you eat me alive?

Somehow I am expected to act normal,

but they can tell you’re here,

just by my stride.

Get out of my head,

leave me alone!

It’s because of you I might

just end up forever on my own.
