Anxiety
Anxiety is just one of the monsters in my head.
It invades my thoughts, making me feel as grainy as lead.
Anxiety is like a heavy backpack on my shoulders.
It lays its frosty hands on me, making me colder.
Anxiety is like an abusive family member.
It hits me every single day, but gets worse in September.
Anxiety is like an annoying fly.
It never seems to leave my side, and I sigh.
Anxiety is like a fresh batch of ice.
It makes me fall, which is not very nice.
Anxiety is like a lightning cloud.
No words sometimes, but it dwells over me loudly.
Anxiety is like an aggressive canine.
It waits until I’m vulnerable, then barks past nine.
Anxiety is just one of the monsters inside my head.
I wish it would leave me alone.
