Anxiety

Dear Anxiety,

Where did you come from?

What brought you here,

That one day when I first noticed you

When you tormented my stomach,

Leaving your horrid taste on my tongue.

Why were you silent for so many years,

When the only sign of your presence was my consistent over-thinking.

What brought you back with such a vengeance?

Now even the simplest task overwhelms every part of me

And torments my mind to no end.

Why are you insistent on my attendance

To the hell that is the bedlam

Where my senses are clogged and breathing strained.

Why do you make me fear the unknown

And bury my courage till I can scarcely find it?

Did you stem from my fear of being unwanted and useless?

Or from my fear of being a disappointment?

Where did you come from?

From, Morgan
