Anxiety

Anxiety. What is anxiety?

It's fearing all the little things that no one else seems to see.

It's not being able to face the world that's right in front of me.

I am scared to venture too far from my comfort zone.

I can't get lost when I never leave my prison home.

I found that hiding made the world seem less scary.

I could ignore all my problems as if they were imaginary.

However, the dark can only conceal so much.

After a while you start to lose touch.

If I open myself up, people will see

the parts of myself that I find most ugly.

But maybe that's exactly what I need in my life.

A new perspective from someone not sharing my strife.

I open myself one stitch at a time

and the voices go quiet with all of their lies.

As I express my true self to those who are worth it

I've come to love myself because I know I deserve it.

After everything is done, all of the good and the bad

I've learned that I've earned the right to be glad
