Anxiety

Quiet, except in my head

Where I hear the voices

That make me lay wide awake in bed

Anxious and Sadness

Are still up talking late

Worry and Fear are discussing

What will be my fate?

I want to join the good times

But Overthinking and Anxiety

Have told me I won't be fine

So I sit out on the sidelines

Too afraid to jump in

And make a mistakes

“I’ll be safer inside” they say

So I listen to them and sit back

Watching everyone else live and play

Wondering what it is like out there

Not to have Anxiety and Worry telling you what to do

People don’t understand why I always opt out

Or why I am feeling so Blue

But when Confidence whispers to try something new

Anxiety and Fear are louder than Positivity

So Courage quiets down and lets Anxiety take the reigns

And the voices inside me

Bicker and fight

About what is right

Maybe one day

I’ll finally be able to live and play

Maybe one day

I’ll break free from the way

I’ve been living for so long
