Anxiety is an Illusion

Anxiety is an illusion.

My brain becomes a seemingly endless spiral

Of merging thoughts that I cannot separate.

Too many speculations at once,

The more I overcompensate, the more distorted the illusion becomes.

I am trapped inside my own mind

Like the mirage I see but cannot navigate through.

My panic! becomes an uncontrollable obsession

Like the disarray of curves and lines

That blur together, making it hard to contemplate

Anything else, because why did I do that?

I created this mental illusion myself and thought of

Every. Possible. Scenario. For the outcome, because

It feels like the end of the world and I cannot find my way

Around my own mind and my own illusion because my stomach

Twists and turns like the curves and my heart races like the

Never-ending spiral as it continues to spin faster, faster, faster!

And I cannot escape my own illusion.
