To anybody listening

To anybody listening, I am a student

A overwhelmed, over worked student

Fighting to try and find the balance between a social life, homework, and sleep

Realizing that sleep will have to just wait until I graduate, and down my 12th or 13th cup of coffee

Falling asleep on textbooks, and writing until my hand cramps have hand cramps

I am a student

To anybody listening, I feel the pressure

The pressure to be a positive influence for my little sister, and step kids

To constantly strive to give 100, no 120 percent my all

To make perfect grades, and have my life together

Making sure everything is in its place, and all are happy

I feel the pressure

To anybody listening, I am struggling

Financially trying to support myself and be able to stay awake throughout my classes

Working over nights at a hospital, just to have to turn around and change scrubs to go to class

Filling out as many scholarships as I can so I can continue to afford tuition

Budgeting every penny, just to be able to afford bills

I am struggling

To anybody listening, I am a future nurse

I go through this all-in order to know I have a better future for me and my family

Knowing that my future career isn’t going to be easy, but still continuing to strive on

I do this for my future patients

Knowing ill make a difference in someone’s life, makes this all worth it

I am a future nurse.
