anything of my everything

All I need

is everything.

I refuse to imagine a world without blue

and CAPITAL LETTERS,

Surely a world without sugar

could not be fit for consumption.

The assumption that there is just one thing I cannot live without

is foolish-

I love too much and too many

to forfeit any.

I yearn for the sun,

but cherish the darkness.

It’s called homeostasis and its basis

is Science (with a capital S),

not poetry (with a lowercase p),

and yet I love them both passionately.

I need my art

and I need my books

and I need all my sideways, stolen looks.

You look up from your clipboard, ready your pencil, and say

“Name one thing you would hate to have taken away.”

No. I refuse.

I cannot choose.

Give me Non-applicable or None Of The Above,

for I am in love

with the universe.

I will not  yield anything of my everything.
