Ap (Water)
give me thirty seconds,
just to get reconnected,
open my mouth wide, lose my words, cervical plexus,
losing breath, that's my nerves,
I'm lost in a universe of dreams deferred,
turned quick into nightmares,
I wish I could be a poet but can't handle the glares
of disapproval. thoughts all but lucid
inside a mind evergreen with memories
of, time and time again, my expressions having failed me.
I think I need a bigger thesaurus.
there's more truth behind my eyes,
I seem salty, but you know I never told no lies, hold on.
there's more to the kid like there's more water to the ocean,
a Plato kind of notion, three parts to the soul.
guilty of leaving out the logical, in pursuit of the deepest truths,
but no depths of dictionaries can make you listen.
I keep fishing.
they say you are what you eat,
so a fish must be as salty as the water it drinks,
and you are as narrow as the bible you read.
so unreceptive, all these misconceptions.
I'm a fiend for the truth, I can bring you the proof.
this world wants me breaking my moral code,
fiendish instead for the gold.
I keep my third eye open,
my crown glowing,
hoping for the day my communication starts flowing freely,
because you see me,
but the mask is hiding I,
some days could dive onto the pavement,
I'm counting mistakes I've thought about making.
I know better but do worse,
need your holiest water because that truth hurts,
your ignorance is bliss and my truth's pure.
