Apart
When she’s sad it saddens me
A burden weighing over what it should be
Because her pain’s familiar terrain
For one who has endured it
Her brain filled with abstractions and scattered thoughts
Brought before mine eyes
Mind’s eyes could only perceive
If one’s heart has been conditioned by hurts
Encompassed by words that dare not be uttered
From the lips…..for out of the mouth the heart shall speak
Speak to me of your dark & twisted fantasies
Lead to believe that on this earth
There is some benign theme
of a love worth longing for
In order to make it all worth it
& Despite one’s refrain to repeat
Yet once again it would seem fate
Has deemed the notion of an us to be forfeit
Melancholic though it may seem
Amidst…. a sea of dreams & uncertainties.
