The Apathetic Many

It's a saying that "those who can't do, instead teach",

They've discovered their dreams are beyond their short reach.

The hours are early and the pay rather small,

And the job has requirements that sound rather tall.

So why would these seemingly learned people choose

To have such a job, for it seems like bad news

Most aren't even friendly, they earn children's hate

When they give crappy grades for work passed in just late.

They don't tolerate sass, teachers put you in place.

You need help after class? Their schedule doesn't have space.

Instead all their time is spent watching the clock

in detention, doing lines, children wasting their chalk.

All that they treasure is their towering ego,

they don't value their students, or care where we go

when we leave our old schools, we're just out of their hair.

But they haven't molded us, we will leave unprepared!

They know this, but they don't give a damn, it's not fair!

At these vile libertines I must submit to stare

for 6 hours a day, and at them I should swear,

But you can't say sh*t to your teacher, I'll just glare.
