Apathy

Apathy

is a one way street

Because everyone around seems to care too much

about the fact 

that you are apathetic.

You,

however,

are quite apathetic towards the fact

that you are in fact

apathetic.

Sometimes you wonder

if the fact that people are so upset that you are apathetic makes them

emotionally pathetic.

But as you start to wane out of the draining force of apathy,

you can see that they are indeed not pathetic in the slightest,

and that your apathetic thoughts 

during your apathetic crisis

are surprisingly biased

despite not caring.

Their emotions

are what make them stronger than you.

Or,

so you start to feel as you come out of apathy.

People are meant to feel

and care

and although feelings can deal

lots of damage and add lots of baggage,

I'm certain that to challenge

is not the purpose of empathy.

It is so we can lift each other up.

Without empathy,

you have apathy,

When you're apathetic,

Others seem pathetic,

and that only tears them down with you.
