Apollo

God of poems and the sun,

are you really just a simple one,

could you have been a philosopher or an archer,

a man that is known as either Apollo or Arthur,

by night you share tales of your past,

but during the day, you are having a blast,

Your poems always have the best lore,

simply because you have fought in the worst war,

The war claimed many lives including your family,

almost everything was lost, due to the calamity,

with no hope left on the mountain, everyone feared the worst

that they would not be the last to fall, but the first,

When everyone accepted their fate, you did not and stood above it all,

refusing to let you and the others accept this as their ultimate fall,

hoping onto your sun chariot you looked at them and said

"I'll win this, in mere moments this creature will be dead"

charging at him leaving everyone in whoa,

as you rode your sun chariot to deliver the final blow,

you've always been merciful and kind,

but in that moment, you were blind,

blind with the rage, blind with emotion,

killing the calamity was your only onward motion,

everyone saw you, screaming "you can do it!",

as you charged your final arrow for the final hit,

"this is it" you thought, no way I'm gonna lose,

as your arrow and soul started to fuse,

the beast made his choice you knew that,

so why did you hold back,

was it because a lifetime ago you knew them,

if so, could they have been a mentor, or even a friend,

it didn't matter now, because this was the end,

as the arrow traveled through his heart,

sagitta solis, arrow of the sun, tore him apart,

it was either the life of one or the life of all,

and he had to stand, so that the calamity could fall.

You've lived since then, providing warmth and care,

however, even you knew that he would come back to bring despair,

no man made weapons could harm it, but they don't know that,

and to make matters worse, you don't know when he'll be back,

let me ask you Apollo, if you had to choose,

would you let the people live in ignorance, or will you tell them the news.
