The Apology

I said I was sorry, and it was completely sincere I'm not sure you knew exactly what I meant by it. The reason for the apology was never really stated, But it's been heavy on my heart. I hope you will forgive me, but I don't deserve that relief. If you hate me that's fine, But just know I'll never be able to truly hate you as much as I said. I'll be here if you need someone to talk to again, Like back when you told me everything. I miss the old you, the old us. I miss how we use to be best friends, How nobody ever doubted the love we had. I got too scared, and wanted to stop the misery permanently. I thought that if you hated me, it would be easier for me to go. So I broke things off, and planned the time and date I would leave for good. But then I realized you still cared too much for me, And maybe that leaving wasn't the right thing to do. So I stayed, for you. But after a week or two, you didn't seem to care. I was ready to go, this time I wasn't going to hesitate, But I had too many questions, and too much time to think. So now I sit here, still alive and wondering, What it would've been like if I didn't give up so early. I'm sorry.
