Appearance 2

1 Corinthians 6:20

20 For you were bought at a price;

therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Appearance

Life itself is not what it appears

and so is happiness.

To look on life within

will show you true in the past.

Here and there a glimmer

through the walls of frustration,

that are cracked and chipped in places

after the pounding of the heart.

Your heart that in your childhood free

you sold to the first bidder.

The price you received fulfilled

for a while all that you “deserved”.

It helped your “within” to guard

and preserve the knowing

that self is first all the way

in the desire that you serve.

The end you see is all glitter

to fulfill your desired needs.

Nothing can stop you now

you‘ve got it made on earth.

You forgot about the bidder,

who owns your soul and body

and uses the power that he has

to prevent your second birth.

Your heart is almost stone by now

after the constant pounding

against the wall of indifference

as it gets harder all the time.

Desensitized and callused

on a rope that is breaking

choking and gasping

pretending all is fine.

Maybe there is a chance after all

to end this useless existence.

“Where there is life there’s hope”

a timeless never ending call.

Let the old “life” die my friend

through the help of the Maker

Who will love you in spite of self

as He died to give Life for all.
