Appearances are a disguise of one's true self
Many people judge a person by their looks, color, and ethnicity, but never take the time to find out what that person is really like. Walking through no man’s land, with the marks and clothes I have on my body give people the wrong impression, but once I change into my uniform many views change and doors open like I just obtained magical powers. Wearing a uniform or having tattoos doesn’t make me more of a man or change who I am. It’s just the path I have chosen to take in order to show the pride, loyalty, and respect I have for my country, as well as those who have come before me.
The ink on my left arm is permanent and can not be reversed, symbolizing many events that took place in my life. The number on my arm is prestigious, reflects and defines the pride of a Marine Corp Infantry men.the work and hours these men put in to keep our country a safe place is unbelievable, but is never recognized. Loyalty is something everyone promises to make the world a better place, however not everyone keeps their end of the deal. The date I have engraved at the bottom of my arm is the day I swore to defend my country under any circumstance. My task was not easy, despite all the difficulties I surpass them and made ends meet.
