Apples and vanity

Proverbs 25:11

11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold
In settings of silver.

Apples and vanity

I went away to forget things ... I want to live for.

I searched in different places ... for the things hidden in me.

I will not quit searching ... until I find my own need

even if it takes me out to nowhere ... on the other side of Thee.

I am the apple of my eye ... in an orchard of cherry trees.

I am way out of touch ... with my environment.

I stand out as a thistle ... in a sea of the serene

and I have no clue ... to my own detriment.

Looking for the future ... deep in the past

starting out anew ... with worn out tools.

Laying a new foundation ... on sand that won’t last.

building towers way up high ... by the same old rules.
