Applying for scholorships
When I was little I use to live in the valley our landlord evicted us due to circumstances. It all went downhill from that point. We began living in our car for about two weeks. Thanks to my moms boyfriend he helped provide a roof over our heads I was grateful. It however took an hour to get to my elementary school, about 19 miles away. I had to wake up at 4:30 every morning just to get there on time. This left me in a sleep deprived state and I didn’t do well in school. Due to multiple family troubles we went into financial Crisis, it got to the point to where the only thing we would have functional in our house is running water, this lasted for an entire year. To overcome these situations I just pushed forward hoping things would be better, like a light at the end of the tunnel, and eventually it did. My mom finally got fed up and moved. Her current boyfriend is helping her by giving her a place to live and help provide for us all the while she went back to school. Although we still struggle we are in a currently favorable position
Going from a privileged life to one filled with adversity has helped shape my perspective of life. Prior I believed that life is something we can go through easily, that it's something to take for granted. My ideals shifted to that it's something you have to appreciate. That you have open arms towards the good and the bad because your life only happens once. Even if there is a God, A heaven, Or if reincarnation is a possibility, the life you're currently living will never happen again. I would not trade my it for anything. Because of this I want to go to college to not only expand my perspective of life but to create new memories and new experiences for life
I don't mean to tell this story so you can take pity on me or so it would be sob story. It's meant to show that in the face of adversity I can still push forward. No matter what I tried my best and was able survive in my education. What ever problems may rise I would still be able to survive in college and push forward. Although this was a horrible experience I wouldn't trade it for the world. It has taught me so much about life and the perspectives of others. It has given me friends and family that It would not be able to live without. These unfortunate events shaped the person I am today.
