Appreciation to a Former Home

I’ve always felt like a child

Now the age of a young adult

From home my grandparents’ styled

Finally seeing the result

Of day I realized that I grew up

The day I saw the world anew

Waiting to see the follow-up

Something I’d thought I’d gotten used to

Thoughts on an upcoming new move

Home to another residence

It's time for our lives to improve

Sometimes sad within my silence

Moving plans seem to parallel

New school, new friends, and a new home

Plans go wrong not like you foretell

Feels like things are in monochrome

This time is different though

I’m moving from a home I’d known

Been here longer than I know

Stayed with family, friends and alone

A total of six years at least

The second highest is half that

All west or south but never east

None similar or copycat

Young as child, teen, and now youth

Played games with cousins as a team

Isn’t it time to face the truth

Fun times spent there aren’t just a dream

Showing my appreciation

Feel changes in temperature

Pictures around the location

Wrote poems about the nature
