(poems go here) Glory was in his heart
That Derringer did he grasp
To history he would impart

If only he could change the past
Then change this final stage
He readied himself, hopeful to never fall prey to Nast

He must solve his rage
He pulled the key from the sack
Released freedom from her cage

He went to the back
His future full of dread
The wife was in black

He fired, and there the man bled
Fulfilled the truth
Lincoln was surely dead

He had done the uncouth
Half hero, half traitor
He, was John Wilkes Booth
