Archer's Quest

Archer's Quest

I fix my sight upon the star

and aim at where the angels are,

and twang the bowstring's amored song

that guides the golden shaft along.

Its high arc blaze, of whitest light,

light up my soul's darkest night.

And slays the shadows far and wide,

where demons crouch and devils 'bide.

Its course well plotted, does indeed,

the arrow forced with all God's speed,

hurtle course's detoured mounds

and traced the arc the archer found.

Blest hope,the target's reddened chest

op't wide to end the archer's quest.

Recieves the arcing lover's sigh

and nocks his arrow in reply.

As crystal captures purest light

His arrow takes majestic flight.

And straight as string, his answer brings

the archer's great imaginings.

Love's lightning shaft has pierced my hide

and traced its courses well inside.

Found no obstructive plantings there

and seared my soul with loving care.
