Archetypes

A Hero sets out to sail the seven seas

and to come back a newly change man.

He frees the innocent and hears the pleas

and soon he'll be finished before he began.

He'll be tempted by many desirable things

but to his path he must stay true.

Even the Temptress whose real touch stings

but whose spell he must see through.

Searching for advice when lost in path

a Mentor he will seek.

To avoid the Devil's untimely wrath

and cross the Threshold as we speak.

He'll come across a fork in the road

and a Trickster who will deceive.

Unsavory help will be bestowed

and a Transformation will be achieved.

Lured by a girl who is used as bait

he'll have to save the Damsel.

A girl destined for a tragic fate

yet this is something he can handle.

All the way from down below

he can see the Star-Crossed Lovers.

And he never heard of more woe

than that which he alone discovers.

A Hero's Journey he has finished

to see the resolution unfold.

His life will no longer be diminished

because his story has been told.
