The Architecture of a smile
I am a girl wondering what it feels like to wear a white coat of my own.
Like the first snow falling on a new York street,
I dream of a tomorrow I hope
will come. I work so hard to earn a seat at the table,
While only the night knows the tears on my face.
I've been called silly, told i was worth nothing,
A pain that was aching deep in my heart.
That I came from a faraway land, saying
goodbye,
Travelling across the world to reach for the starts.
Sometimes my dream feels unreachable,
But my heart tells me I can't give up now.
In a world of strangers, I felt that I might not succeed.
Conversation I couldn't understand, And the silence that grows when money
is tight.
But i want to lend my hand and help others,
To find the strenght to pursue this running start.
Then came a saver in a write shirt, giving me the oxygen of a new tomorrow.
I will never forgot that bright, write snow
The color of a uniform, and the color of a smile.
